WBC began in 1974 when Alan Wallace chose to follow his passion for craftsmanship and become a general contractor for new residential construction in the Irish Hills of Michigan. His son, Gabriel, began working side-by-side with his father starting at the age of seven. This shadowing not only laid the foundation for a thriving knowledge of carpentry, but was also the genesis for his own passion for building. The business grew over the years where they built numerous custom legacy homes on and around the lakes of the Irish Hills, but often it's true that less is more. Customers and business associates were so impressed with his genuine customer relations, impeccable attention to detail, extensive building knowledge, and fine carpentry/craftsman mastery abilities that they strongly encouraged him to expand WBC’s general contracting to a wider area. But as a family man and in true fashion of where the business started, WBC continues to service the Irish Hills area, focusing on high-end, passionate projects.
